VANCOUVER – Let’s find Megalopae!
- 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Join us with False Creek Friends as we learn about some of the weird and wonderful species in our local waters, how scientists collect data in awkward places like the ocean, how to use the iNaturalist App, and how to pronounce megalopae (Dungeness Crab Larvae). By attracting these crabs and other species through a light trap, we will collect data about the health and wellbeing of the Salish Sea. We are excited that our findings will be part of a province-wide project, The Sentinels of Change Light Trap Project!
Remember to bring shoes with good grip as we will be on a wharf, a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) for your child(ren) (optional), and a cellphone to use the iNaturalist app if you have one (if not, we will have one for you to use).
Location: Heather Civic Marina, 600 Stamps Landing, east side of False Creek
