We will be joined by volunteers from Nelson Search and Rescue for a fun and informative afternoon. Do your kids know what to do if they get lost in the woods? What should you pack to be prepared for emergencies? How to call for help, and how to make sure you are FOUND? Through games, demonstrations and hands-on activities we will all learn from the experts how to stay safe in the outdoors. This will be a fun and active afternoon and we are very thankful for the search and rescue volunteers who will be meeting with our club. The exact activities will depend on how many people are coming and the ages of the kids, so we’d appreciate it if folks can sign up early so our mentors have time to prepare an awesome program! Some possible activities are shelter building and starting fires. Priority registration is for NatureKids members. If there is space available we will open the event to non-members.
