In response to COVID-19, NatureKids BC is providing online resources and interactions, such as Virtual Explorer Days, to ensure the safety of our members. Please read our COVID-19 Guidelines and Policy for any potential in-person gatherings this summer.

Loading Events
  • Fulton River Sockeye Salmon Run – Visit the world’s largest man-made spawning channel to witness the fall migration of thousands of spawning sockeye salmon and learn about their amazing journey from Fulton river, to the ocean and back again.

  • Meet at the Nature Centre 1:15 to carpool

  • 1:30 – 4:30 (Spawning channels are a 45 minute drive away so this will be a day trip and we will carpool to save gas and carbon emissions)

  • Bring snacks and water, dress for the weather.

  • This is an easy, short walk so strollers and folks with mobility issues are welcome to join us.

  • Department of Fisheries and Oceans staff will lead us through a salmon discretion and share about the spawning channels.
