EAST VANCOUVER – Pollinator Patrol! The Buzz about Bees in BC

How do bees make honey? Do bees really dance? How many bees are native to B.C.?
Discover the answers and explore the wild, fascinating world of bees with beekeeper and Apprentice Master Mellitologist Kristen Penhall.
During this engaging session, you will learn how to identify common pollinators and native bees, explore their lifecycles, and observe real specimens.
*UPDATE*
As there is a chance of rain in the forecast, we will be moving the event to the Family Room, upstairs in the Strathcona Community Centre. We were originally going to have the event outside in the nearby community gardens, but the facilitator’s preserved bee specimens are delicate and vulnerable to getting wet.

Location: Strathcona Community Centre (A NK volunteer will be at the main entrance to guide NK members to the room)

Parking: There is a lot in the back of the centre as well as some street parking. If you are lost on the day of please text 778-822-6145 and we will come and find you.
