Hello NatureKids BC Cowichan Valley Members,
In partnership with the Quw’utsun Cultural Connections Society (QCCS), come join us for a day of xpey’ (Western redcedar) planting and Cultural Teachings from Quw’utsun Elders. This is a family event and all ages are welcome. Our aim is to restore and strengthen Quw’utsun culture and heal relationships with the land by ensuring the xpey’ (Western red cedar) remains on the Quw’utsun Territory for generations to come. Soup will be served. Shovels and work gloves provided.

Time: 11:00am – 2:00pm
Location*: BCPF Property across the street from 7275 Lake Cowichan Rd. Google Map link.

The other part of the day will include an opportunity to plant xpey’ (Western redcedar) trees in the forested parts of the property. Good footwear is advised. We can accommodate all levels of mobility. No planting experience necessary! Everyone is welcome, whether you are from a settler or Indigenous background.
