Maëla is a student at Simon Fraser University and is currently studying Resource and Environmental Management. She has been heavily involved in community relations focused on nature. Her volunteering includes invasive plant removals, native plant awareness, helping at various garden hubs, and partnering with cities, charities, and schools to educate others on the differences between invasive and native plants. Around the Tri-Cities, you can often find Maëla hiking, walking, or taking photos of native flowers and trees. If she is not in the Tri-Cities, there’s a very good chance she’s exploring Squamish!
