Jennifer Baetz is originally from Ontario and received an Undergraduate degree, BA in History and a Master’s of Archival Science. Outside of her professional career, Jennifer has a love of nature, gardening, and environmental education. She is the co-founder of Gardens4Kids, a volunteer-driven initiative that inspires children and families to connect with nature through hands-on gardening experiences. What began as a neighbourhood project has grown into a community program that partners with schools, libraries, community organizations, and volunteers to provide educational gardens. As a NatureKids BC Club Volunteer in the Comox Valley, Jennifer is excited to create opportunities for families to explore local parks, forests, beaches, and green spaces together. She believes that curiosity, unstructured outdoor play, and shared experiences in nature help children develop confidence, resilience, and a lasting connection to the natural world. When she’s not working or volunteering, Jennifer enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, gardening, hiking forest trails, cycling, and discovering the incredible plants and wildlife that make British Columbia such a special place to live.
