About NatureKids BC:
NatureKids BC is a registered charity that helps children, and their families, get outdoors to explore, play, learn about and take action for nature. We do this through an award-winning network of Nature Clubs that extends across BC. Together with our volunteer club leaders, nature mentors and supporters, we share a vision of working together to help children develop a love of nature, a lifelong connection to the natural world, and build the environmental literacy and skills to take action for nature.
Job Description:
NatureKids BC seeks a collaborative team player, clear communicator and results-oriented administrative professional who is passionate about our mission. The ideal candidate is excited at the prospect of understanding and growing NatureKids’ community – past, present and future.
Your primary role will be to coordinate administrative and membership services for the NatureKids network of nature clubs and provide support to volunteers and our staff, located across BC. The Membership Administrator provides front-line reception services to the organization as well as manages NatureKids BC’s member information systems, driving our membership campaigns, crafts engaging communications and coordinates the public event schedule. This is a diverse and critical position and is essential to our success.
The Membership Administrator embodies NatureKids BC’s team values; integrity, empowerment, collaboration, diversity and inclusion. This role requires creativity, resourcefulness, professionalism, and inspiration, and works with the rest of the organization to create a generation of BC families who love nature and have the skills, knowledge and motivation to take action for nature.
Primary duties and responsibilities: Office coordination and administration
- Manage telephone, email, and face to face enquiries from members, staff, volunteers, and the public to provide a welcoming reception to NatureKids BC (remotely);
- Build and maintain effective relationships, both internally and externally;
- Maintain office inventory and outreach materials (in-person);
- Ensure NKBC’s office procedures are up-to-date;
- Be the key staff responsible for keeping Keela (contact database) up to date;
- Participate in weekly team meetings
Membership coordination and servicing
- Process all memberships and donations in Keela database;
- Organize all mailing of welcome kits, outreach materials, and shop purchases to members, volunteers, and members;
- Support the Club Coordinator with club mailing lists and general program operations;
- Coordinate NatureKids BC’s passport and action award program;
- Contribute to annual reports, Board of Director reports and other stakeholder communications
- Represent NKBC at community outreach events
This position is supported by Nature Canada’s Work to Grow program. Interested candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Youth from across Canada who are between the ages of 15 and 30 (inclusive)
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee status. NOTE: A work permit is not eligible.
