VANCOUVER – Bats and Bubbles Work Party
- 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
On Saturday, August 8 at 10:00 a.m, we will visit the Copley Community Orchard in East Vancouver for our Explorer Day: Bats and Bubbles Work Party. The work party will involve various tasks aimed at maintaining the orchard, such as thinning apples and summer pruning. It’s an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the inner workings of a community orchard and contribute to its upkeep. It will be a day filled with learning, nature, and community, with the opportunity to come together as a community and help a local orchard thrive. Your participation will make a significant difference!
SCHEDULE: We will start around 10:00 a.m. with a tour of the orchard by Tanya Campbell. At 10:30, we are thrilled to have Danielle from BC Bats come present to us with everything you want to know about bats. And then at 11:00, there will be bubbles! There will be so much bubble fun! Stay afterward for a Community Potluck — Bring your favorite dishes, cutlery, and drinks to share with fellow nature enthusiasts. It’s a great way to strengthen our sense of community and enjoy a tasty meal together.
MEETING LOCATION: The orchard is situated between Walker St. and Copley St., and Vanness Ave. and East 19th Ave. See attached map.
