Aquatic macroinvertebrates are tiny water creatures. We’re going to learn how scientists collect, identify, and count macroinvertebrates in a stream to check for stream health.
We’ll return to the same North Delta stream we visited back in May at the end of Bates Rd. When we were last there, we tested whether the stream was a suitable environment for fish. Now we’re going to do some pond dipping to see what else is living there. We’ll bring magnifiers, a microscope, and pond dipping tools. Let’s see what we can find and identify!
