Nelson NatureKids September Explorer Day!
When: Sunday, September 28th 2025
Time: 1pm to 2:30/3pm
Where: Cottonwood Lake
Join Community Educator Shanoon Bennett for an exciting field study at Cottonwood Lake, where you’ll explore the underwater world of aquatic life. Discover fascinating facts and hands-on activities that will make you bug-wise and open your eyes to incredible pond creatures. Nature Explorers should dress for the season and bring water and a snack.
About the Community Educator: Shanoon Bennett has a Bsc in Earth Sciences and has been working in environmental education since the early 80’s as a Park Naturalist in Alberta and BC Parks. She loves to inspire, engage, connect, and motivate students to discover and explore their wild local bioregions, to develop curiosity, knowledge, awareness and appreciation of where they live.
