PRINCE GEORGE -Bird Watching & Nature Journaling Morning

Join us for a peaceful morning exploring the trails of Cottonwood Island.

We will observe local bird species and capture our experiences through journaling. This guided, beginner-friendly session is all about noticing the small details—bird calls, movement, patterns, and the quiet rhythm of the natural world.

We’ll start with a short introduction to bird watching basics, followed by a relaxed walk where you can observe, reflect, and document what you see and feel. Whether you’re new to journaling or already love it, this is a space to be present, curious, and creative.

What to bring:

Water and a light snack

Weather-appropriate clothing

Why join?

Because sometimes the most productive thing you can do… is pause. This isn’t about being an expert; it’s about paying attention.

Explorer Day Etiquette:

Be prepared to HAVE FUN

Pre-registration with your Club Leader is required for most Explorer Days (Friends are welcome if space permits).

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure enough time for passport stamping and organization. Starting times are firm, and Leaders cannot wait for late-comers!

Please stay with the Leader and let them know if you are leaving early.

Children must always be accompanied by an adult guardian, who is responsible for their behaviour. Children consistently disrupting the experience of others may be asked to leave.

Bring appropriate weather gear, sunscreen, snacks, water, and other useful tools like binoculars, sketch books, cameras, and magnifying glasses.
