In response to COVID-19, NatureKids BC is providing online resources and interactions, such as Virtual Explorer Days, to ensure the safety of our members. Please read our COVID-19 Guidelines and Policy for any potential in-person gatherings this summer.
Enjoy a forest walk and learn about plant adaptations to cold, and local plant identification, the kids will collect plant parts (snowberries, rose hips, spruce and pine cones, lichens, dried leaves). Then we’ll do crafting, putting the plant parts onto willow twig wreaths for a winter decoration to take home.
Afterwards we can have lunch around the firepit, so families can bring something to cook on the fire if they want; and the club leaders will bring ingredients for s’mores.
