Come join us for a guided walk at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary! We will visit the museum and have a guided tour where we will talk about biodiversity, adaptations, habitats and bird identification.  I highly recommend downloading the  Merlin bird identification app created by Cornell  Labs, it is an excellent way to identify bird calls.   Also, this activity is best suited for children ages 5 and up.

We anticipate the event being 2 hours in duration.

Meeting time: 9:45 am (please arrive early to check in, as the tour will start at 10 am)
Date: Sunday, October 5th
Location: 5191 Robertson Rd, Delta, BC  (we will meet in front of the main entrance, adjacent to the parking lot)

“The George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary consists of nearly 300 hectares (850 acres) of managed wetlands, natural marshes and low dykes in the heart of the Fraser River Estuary. For the millions of birds seeking feeding and resting areas during their annual migrations along the Pacific Coast, the Sanctuary is ideally located. It is a place where wildlife and their habitats are protected from harm, and it lies next to miles of flat marshland and the farmland of Westham Island.”

What should I bring?  Water bottle, and dress for the weather (the trails can be muddy),  rain gear if needed (we go rain or shine) and proper footwear

Washrooms are available near the entrance.

Please reserve your spot by responding to this email, space is limited to 30 participants.  In your email reservation please indicate how many adults and children attending.
