DESCRIPTION:Christmas Bird Count for Kids!\n\nThe plan is to meet at the tennis courts at the end of Marina Way..  This is a location that is more likely to be sheltered from winter conditions (for the comfort of birds and those who watch them!)\n\nWe will walk along the lake front and identify all the bird species we see along the way.  Christmas bird counts are a long standing tradition in Canada and around the world!  The information gathered helps to understand and conserve wildlife.\n\n\nPlease remember to dress in warm layers\, bring a warm drink\, and also bring binoculars if you have them.  I will bring extra binoculars and clip boards.

DESCRIPTION:Kettle Valley Rail Trail Bike Ride \nJoin us for a bike ride from Naramata to Penticton on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail (KVR) – it’s an easy 15km ride on a gradual downhill grade. This would be suitable for kids 6 and older on their own bike\, with smaller kids on a bike trailer or on a rear seat. \nWe’ll meet at Hoodoo Adventures around 10am with our bikes\, helmets and backpacks. Hoodoo will shuttle us to Naramata and drop us off at the KVR (I think Arawana would be a good starting point). We’ll then bike back to Penticton\, and have a picnic lunch stop along the way. \nHoodoo Adventures has offered us a great deal on a shuttle to Naramata. They will transport you and your bike from Penticton to Naramata for $12 per person (their normal price is $20pp).
