SUMMARY:SALT SPRING - Signs of Spring
DESCRIPTION:Join Salt Spring Island NatureKids  on Feb. 23\, from 1 to 3 pm\, at Xwaaqw’um (Burgoyne Bay Prov. Park).  We’ll head outside to find some natural winter wonders and look for early signs of Spring.  Will there be snow on the ground\, with animal tracks to observe?  If the snow has melted will the ground be frosty or muddy?  Will there be new shoots poking up and buds on the bushes?  Will we find any early salmonberry blossoms or swamp lanterns?  What kinds of birds will we see and hear in the forest or on the bay?  Will there be seals or sea lions swimming by?  What surprises might we find? \n This activity is geared for families with kids up to 13 years old.  Please register by emailing Jean at jdwilkingm@gmail.com  Children must be accompanied by a parent or designated adult\, and of course we all need to dress for the weather.  We’ll meet at the Outdoor classroom with the Quw’utson’ Nation info panels near the main parking lot.  We’re looking forward to seeing you there and exploring together!  \n
