DESCRIPTION:Invasive bugs and beetles of BC \nWe will be teaming up with Invasive Species Council of B.C. to teach the children and parents alike about invasive species of bugs\, beetles and plants and their impacts on local ecosystems. \nLocation: The plan will be to meet at the entrance gate of UBC’s Malcolm Knapp Research Forest (14500 Silver Valley Rd\, Maple Ridge\, BC V4R 2R3). The first half we will be learning about the species and the second half we will venture into the forest to look for them! \nPlease respond to this email those who can make it. DESCRIPTION:Fish Release at Maple Ridge Park! \nThis event will be in collaboration with A.R.M.S. (Alouette River Management Society) and ALLCO Fish Hatcheries. It will include releasing around 5000 chinook fry into the Alouette River! There is a water park\, playground\, field and of course the shallow river for children and families to play at before and after the event\, so just know there is lots to do incase you’re early or choose to stay later.
