Meet Rachel one of our amazing NatureKids BC volunteers that helps provide meaningful moments in nature for families in the Maple Ridge area!
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you experience nature around you?
Born and raised in the lower mainland I have grown to love everything about our beautiful province and believe in keeping it that way, beautiful. I love staying active outdoors with hiking, biking, skiing and enjoying the wonderful natural landscapes beautiful British Columbia offers.
What do you like about volunteering?
The best and most lasting platform is to start education young, teaching children about nature and our environment. I came to appreciate early on from my family, who did tons of outdoor activities, and now I want to pass that passion and love for the outdoors to future generations.

Do you have a favourite NatureKids BC moment that you can share with us?
I have so many amazing memories from volunteering with NatureKids, but my top favourite was the Fishing Fun event where kids got to learn how to fish and caught quite a few also! Many of the kids caught fish for the very first time, such an exciting experience for them!
