Late in 2021, the City of North Vancouver installed a national-park quality birding scope at the base of Fell Avenue – a stellar vantage point to observe the resident eagles, and local herons and seals.
Gifted to the City by John and Wendy Morton, lifelong birding enthusiasts and local WildBirds shop Founders, the scope is dedicated in memory of NatureKids BC’s Founder, Daphne Solecki.
“We hope that many children, families, visitors and locals alike, may enjoy a moment with the scope, marvelling at the nature right in front of us that thrives only with our support in the face of the ongoing development of the neighborhood.” John Morton
During this week of Birds Canada Great Backyard Bird Count, North Vancouver is pleased to have seen high volumes of people enjoying the scope on the seawall already!
